four world bank officials drown in Ekiti Dam

Four World Bank authorities had been allegedly suffocated at Egbe Dam in Egbe Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Egbe Dam is the greatest of the six dams in the state.

Mrs Folasade Akinrinmola, the administrator of the committee and the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Albert Adeyemi, both affirmed this improvement to newsmen on Thursday.

Akinrinmola said that the occurrence which happened on Wednesday's night included a group of seven contractual workers utilized by the World Bank on an evaluation mission to the dam.

She said that the group had initiated take a shot at Tuesday night from a segment of the dam and moving to the next segment when the episode happened on Wednesday.

She said that customary leader of Egbe advised her of the occurrence.

"We promptly assembled a salvage group and an emergency vehicle, and all the while, those wearing life coats were saved.

"The protected individuals were the ones who let us know that others were in the water.

"The assemblages of those that had suffocated were later recovered by the nearby anglers."

"One of the dead casualties was said to be the child of the pioneer of the group who fortunately got away unhurt.

"We trust that they came to Ekiti taking into account a portion of the proposition we had composed on the dam on how it can be put to utilize.

"We trust that the World Bank has begun take a shot at the dam taking into account their discoveries," she said.

The board manager who depicted the occurrence as pitiful and deplorable , included that the collections of the dead have been kept at the funeral home in Ode-Ekiti, the central command of the committee range.

DSP Alberto Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Ekiti State Police Command, additionally affirmed the occurrence.
