"The same number of you know, around a year back I uncovered that I have Lupus, a disease that can influence individuals in various ways. I've found that nervousness, alarm assaults and gloom can be symptoms of Lupus, which can exhibit their own difficulties," her announcement read.
"I need to be proactive and concentrate on keeping up my wellbeing and bliss and have chosen that the most ideal route forward is to take some time off. In 2013, Gomez, 24, enjoyed a reprieve amidst her Stars Dance visit and later clarified that she's doing combating Lupus, an immune system ailment.
"I was determined to have lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy," she told Billboard in October 2015. "That is the thing that my break was truly about. I could've had a stroke. … I needed so gravely to say, 'You folks have no clue. I'm in chemotherapy. You're a- - gaps,'" she said of the haters at the time who scrutinized her. "I bolted myself away until I was sure and agreeable once more."
Gomez already looked for treatment at a recovery office in 2014. Amid a May 2016 meeting with GQ, she disclosed why she chose to register with a treatment focus.
"For one thing, this is something that everybody dependably needs to focus on," the "Same Old Love" artist said at the time. "I got determined to have lupus. My mother had an exceptionally open premature delivery.
So I needed to wipe out my visit. I required time to simply be OK." As already reported, Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, endured an unsuccessful labor in late 2011, provoking the star to pull the attachment on a few shows at the time.
