    An endeavor by a middle aged man to snatch a kid in Mushin region of Lagos was thwarted, yesterday, taking after his capture.

    The suspect, Charles Ibeleme, was hailed at Olowo Street by occupants. There were distinctive records of the occurrence. A variant said he was at the edge of trading his casualty, a nine-year-old kid, for a sack of rice when somebody, who knew the kid, interceded.

    Another variant has it that he was purportedly taking his casualty, why should sent purchase sachet water, to an obscure area when somebody who knew the casualty raised the caution. An observer, Obioma Chineye, said: "The kid being referred to is our inhabitant.

    He was sent to purchase immaculate water. In transit, the man called him and he tailed him as though he was entranced. He got to be interested when the kid passed where he should purchase the water and pursued the suspect.

He said he was taking him to a few people who sent him.

    He likewise said that he went into seizing as a result of hardship." The suspect was tossed into a gorge and was nearly being set burning when policemen from Olosan Division arrived the scene.

    Affirming the episode, representative for the Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmus, said: "Agents from Mushin Olosan Division safeguarded one Charles Ibeleme while being mobbed by a tumultuous group over assertion of endeavored hijack.

    "The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has coordinated that the case be exchanged to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for further examination."
