The official 2017 JAMB Cut-Off Marks for admissions into Nigerian Tertiary Institutions will be announced on this website.
We are however, still awaiting the official announcement of this year's cut-off marks.
The JAMB cut-off marks is the minimum score that you MUST have obtained to gain any admission into any institution. This simply means that if you don't attain a specific score, you will not be given admission into that particular institution.
Last year, the official JAMB cut-off mark was pegged at 180. This meant that no institution was allowed to give admission to any candidate that did not score 180 or above. Even Polytechnics, College of Education (COE) or the institute could not admit any candidate below 180.
Please note this cut-off mark is the MINIMUM, not the MAXIMUM score allowed. This means that some institutions are allowed to set individual cut-off marks that are higher than the JAMB Cut-off Marks. Examples for some schools that set above this minimum are UNILAG, UI, UNIBEN, etc. To see possible individual cut-off marks for schools, please click here.
Even without the announcement of this cut-off marks, it is so unfortunate the JAMB Change of Course/Institution Process is already going on. Without announcement of this vital information, this leaves students making crucial changes that could later harm them once the cut-offs are announced.
The JAMB cut-off marks for 2017 will be announced, after a meeting with the Minister of Education, The JAMB Board and some Representatives of the Institutions.
