It's not just the wild star's dress sense that has changed over the years.
Songs such as Anarchy in the UK and God Save The Queen made him infamous in the 1970s. But his musical tastes have also mellowed with age.
“I love the Bee Gees and b******* to those that don’t,” he claimed recently.

John also opened up about how he felt when he hit 60, adding: “It is a mid-life crisis. But everything in life is a crisis. We are so precious about ourselves.”

Earlier this year, the singer claimed the BBC banned him - after he tried to expose Jimmy Savile in the 1970s .
He gave an interview to BBC Radio 1 in 1978 in which he said he'd heard rumours about Savile's behaviour but that he wouldn't be 'allowed' to talk about it.
During the recording, he said: "I'd like to kill Jimmy Savile; I think he's a hypocrite. I bet he's into all kinds of seediness that we all know about, but are not allowed to talk about.
“I know some rumours - I bet none of this will be allowed out," he added.
